FAQ – CASUAL BABYSITTING BOOKINGS


You’re neck deep in laundry.

Are you craving a nice dinner with your partner? A night out at the movies with your friends? Or even a child-free moment so you can do something for yourself, without having to take nappies, and fourteen packets of sultanas in case of an emergency.

You need our casual babysitting service. And you need it ASAP!

What areas in Australia do you service?
We are a Brisbane based agency, with babysitters located in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Sydney, Melbourne & Geelong.

How do we secure a babysitter?
Please fill in our online babysitting booking form and complete the payment of the $30.00 non-refundable booking form through our PayPal page.  Once we have received the booking form and fee, we will organise a babysitter for you from our database.

Who will be our babysitter on the day/night?
Upon completion of the booking form, you will be contacted by an agency consultant via email with the details of your babysitter.  Your babysitter will also contact you directly via text to introduce themselves a few days before your booking to touch base and introduce themselves.

How does Miss Poppins Agency screen their babysitters?
All of our babysitters are interviewed personally by one of our consultants.  At the interview, copies of the babysitters First Aid, CPR, Working With Children Check and qualifications are sighted. Majority of our babysitters hold a minimum Certificate III in Child Care, or are studying towards. All of our babysitters must have two years minimum child care experience and glowing references.

How do we pay our babysitter?
All of our babysitters are self-employed – you will be required to pay your babysitter cash at the end of the shift. If this does not suit your circumstances, our office can arrange an invoice for payment. If you wish to pay by Credit Card, a 3% fee will apply.

How much do we pay our babysitter?
1 – 2 children – $25/hr
3 – 4 children – $27/hr
5 + children – $28/hr
New Years Eve & Public Holidays & Special Events – $40/hr
Overnight rate – $150.00 (8pm – 6am)

Do we provide/pay for parking?
If you are staying in a hotel, or reside in the CBD you will be required to organise safe and secure parking for your babysitter, and cover the costs. Safety of our staff is extremely important to us, so please ensure that parking within a short walking distance is provided.

Do we pay for fuel?
If your booking is further than 50km from the CBD, you will be required to cover fuel costs for your babysitter. This is calculated at a rate of .50c/km over 50km (or 100km round trip)

What happens if we return home earlier than our scheduled booking time?
Our babysitters are to be paid for a minimum of 3 hours. Please be aware that our babysitters have locked in the scheduled time to assist your family, and have budgeted the shift into their weekly income.  Although we understand that you may arrive home early, please try to stick to the scheduled time as much as possible.

Do we provide food for our babysitter?
Our babysitters will bring their own meals.  But if you are offering tea & chocolate, I don’t think they would decline.

Can we meet our babysitter before our scheduled booking?
This is something that you can arrange with your allocated babysitter directly.

What happens if we have to cancel our babysitter?
Please give us as much notice as possible.  Please note that if cancellation of the babysitter is made within 3 hours of the start time, a minimum of 3 hours will be charged to the client and forwarded onto the babysitter.

Can we use the same babysitter for future bookings?
Yes, you can request which babysitter you would like to use again. Please note that you will be required to book through the agency each time. If the agency discovers that you have booked the babysitter directly, you will be invoiced for the fees, and the babysitter will be removed from our agency.

NANNY NEEDED | BRISBANE NORTH

PART TIME NANNY NEEDED | NUNDAH, BRISBANE

• Two days per week
• 9:00am – 3:00pm
• four month old girl
• $23/hour neg based on experience
• Commence immediately.

Our wonderful clients are looking for a new nanny to join their busy family two full days per week. The days can be flexible to suit the nannies current schedule, but once in place, must be permanent, so our clients can work accordingly. Mum works from home for her own business, in her home office upstairs. Our clients baby is on a good routine, and the family follow the Save Our Sleep model. You will be required to care for our clients daughter sole charge, and whilst she sleeps, assist around the house. This includes, but isn’t limited to laundry, dinner preparation, general tidying (no housework).

Our clients are seeking someone willing to stay on for 12 months minimum, however they are hoping to find a nanny who will become part of their lives long term. This role starts immediately.
